Conquest: Divide and Conquer

October 3rd, 2010 by Crusader

Proxy Studios has announced the release of their debut title Conquest: Divide and Conquer:

Conquest is a unique spin on the turn-based strategy genre, offering fast, simultaneous turn-based online multiplayer gameplay instead of multiple-hour long games of research and building.

Proxy Studios has built the game from ground up to be intuitive, balanced and deep, with a strong random map generator that offers unlimited experiences. A new trailer showcasing recent gameplay is available at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vs-57Xp3x2o.

Players are invited to try the free multiplayer demo to launch along with the game’s release. Both paying and demo customers will be able to play against each other with certain restrictions. For more information see http://www.conquest-game.com/features/.

Conquest will be available for download and digital purchase on the game’s official website http://www.conquest-game.com for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux at 15$ (excluding VAT). The official Conquest facebook page is located at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Conquest/375488914911.

Proxy Studios developers promise to offer strong support and updates to their game through their custom updater technology.

About Proxy Studios
Proxy Studios is a small independent developers studio composed primarily of two dedicated students. The beginning of their custom engine dates back to 2005, but they have since come a long way. They first exposed their work to the public with the open Conquest beta in 2008 while the game was still in 2D. Proxy Studios’ official website is located at http://www.proxy-studios.com.

LGP Downtime

October 3rd, 2010 by Crusader

Michael Simms of Linux Game Publishing and TuxGames let me know that the sites have had a second major hardware failure:

Unfortunately this time it is more serious as we had a backup hardware failure at the same time, and the backup system did not warn us of the failure. This then meant that the third tier backup which is absolutely fine, was not feeding from the second tier which had failed also.

I have no idea how long we could be down for, but it is going to take a while to sort out this mess.

Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery!

Steel Storm Episode I v1.0

October 3rd, 2010 by Crusader

The developers of Steel Storm sent in the following announcement:

Finally, we are out of beta stage and proudly announce release of Steel Storm Episode I v1.0

The release includes a lot of visual and functional improvements. A lot of work has been done under the hood. AI is more advanced now and have no mercy indeed ;)

According to the majority, the game was too easy, especially in coop. Now the game is more challenging and more coop oriented. Get ready, exercise your spinal cord ;)

Another major feature that comes with the release is SandStorm, real-time mission editor. Basically you can start building new missions and modify existing ones.

As soon as we release training videos, we will hold contests and tournaments for Steel Storm Episode I.

Full list of changes and additions can be found in the changelog.

You have to uninstall older version of the game, download full release and install it on your PC / Mac.

The official servers have been updated and they require client v1.0.

We appreciate you patience and your support. Enjoy the game!
