Version 1.12.3 of the multiplayer turn-based strategy game Advanced Strategic Command (screenshots: 1 | 2 | 3) has been released; changes include:

  • new and updated sounds
  • fixed: tank got stuck when moving from one transport ship to another
  • fixed: ships could not enter spaceship
  • fixed: efficiency of mining stations not correctly working
  • fixed: unit categories not being evaluated when entering building
  • fixed: unit not able to enter transports inside buildings
  • mapeditor: Fixed unjustified warning messages during map transformation

QUB 0.7.0

Happypenguin Awards Results

The Linux Game Tome has announced the results of the Happypenguin Awards that we mentioned earlier. 4417 votes were cast for 281 entries and the top winners include Frozen Bubble for Best Free Game, and Quake 3: Arena for Best Non-Free Game.

New Pachi el Marciano Release

T-1000 sent in word that his game Pachi el Marciano has been updated. Changes here:

  • Framerate counter was discarded.
  • Added a difficulty feature that makes the monsters less “tolerant” when coliding with Pachi.
  • The game code was considerably cleaned.
  • Added a little intro that tell why Pachi is in the cemmetery.
  • Also added a little “dragontech” intro.
  • The main menu background was improved.
  • The Fade-out FX for the objects was improved.

    Unreal Tournament 2003 Bonus Pack and Patch

    Epic‘s Daniel Vogel among others sent in the news of a new bonus expansion pack from Digital Extremes for UT2003, as well as a Linux patch to version 2186. The expansion pack contains some new 6 new maps. There is also supposed to be an Epic bonus pack released in the near future.

    NeverWinter Nights Linux Client Update

    You knew it was coming and here it is: The weekly update on the status of the NeverWinter Nights Linux Client

    Aside from the mind-numbing bug fixing process, we have started testing the Linux client on various boxes around the office. We are getting mixed results, but our spirits remain high. And did we mention we’re still fixing bugs? *sigh*

    Marble Blast Demo

    The crew over at GarageGames has released a Linux demo of the game Marble Blast. This marble action adventure game sells for $15, and a full version should be available for Linux soon.
