xmame, the Multi Arcade Machine Emulator, version 0.37b15.1 is now available.
Changes:
- Everything from MAME 0.37b15 except for ‘steadykey’ support.
- Added an aRts sound server driver. (Manuel Teira)
- Added another aRts sound server driver. It needs reasonable aRts server settings, something like artsd -F 6 -S 4096 should be ok to get near accurate response time. (Petr Smotek)
- ALSA updates: Added preliminary support for ALSA 0.9 API; split the 0.5 and 0.9 API stuff into separate files. (Shyouzou Sugitani)
- HotRod support is now enabled by either -hotrod or -hotrodse, just like the DOS/Win32 version.
- Added dummy flicker and vector orientation functions to fxvec.c so that xmame.xfx can link again.

Bill Kendrick has written another game for theAgenda Linux-based PDA:PDA Maze. Current features:
- Random maze generation (currently buggy sometimes)
- First-person 3D view (pre-rendered bitmaps, so it’s fast)
- Photographic skylines (four; one for each direction you can face)
- Compass (needs some pretty bitmap(s) made)
- Overview map (shows your position in the maze)
Bill also makes mention of future features:
It’s currently played with the Agenda’s Left/Right and PgUp/PgDn buttons, but I’ll be adding stylus support, as well.
Different game options will eventually be available, too… including”compassless” and “nighttime” modes (so you can’t tell what directionyou’re facing), different maze sizes, and different options for theoverview maze (show all, show none, show only where you’ve been). There’ll also be a timer.
