Pandora: Community-Developed Console?
December 21st, 2007 by CrusaderThe community project to develop an open source handheld console that we mentioned earlier this year is proceeding apace, and now sports a name, Pandora, a placeholder website with a concept rendering of the device, and a Wiki (thanks Engadget). The targeted specs:
- ARM® Cortex™-A8 CPU running Linux
- 800×480 4.3″ 16.7 million colours touchscreen LCD
- OpenGL 2.0 compliant 3D hardware
- Wifi 802.11b/g
- Dual SDHC card slots
- Dual Analogue and Digital gaming controls
- 43 button QWERTY and numeric keypad
- TV output
- High Speed USB Host
There’s also discussion at GP32X.com, which is a site devoted to an existing Linux handheld game console, the GP2X.
