What’s Happened?!
December 2nd, 2007 by CrusaderChange… and not a moment too soon!
We’ve finally undergone a long overdue renewal of the site design; we hope you like it! Be sure to update your RSS reader.
Many thanks to Marv for spearheading the upgrade and, as always, maintaining the servers, kig for creating the site’s new look, Alkini for converting it to WordPress, my fellow news posters zakk, Lightkey, and jvm, everyone who’s contributed to the site over the years, and all of our readers as we near our tenth anniversary.
Here’s to gaming on the Linux platform!

I like the new design. But I think you should change the comment font
to be the same as news items. And it would also be good if the comments
are seperated more to make is more easy to se each comment. Why not reply threds?

I’d like to offer some constructive criticism.
It’s nice that you took the time to give the site a graphical makeover and I’m sure there’s more to it than that, but apart from the new graphics it looks pretty basic for a site that’s using WordPress.
The banner is very nice.
The left-hand menu is very nice.
The search box at the top is well placed.
The main body is sparse. It would have been nice to have individual comment boxes perhaps surrounded by the orange colour you’re using in the menu, and being spaced apart so that the background tile can be seen between them. The 3D effect grey strip down the left-hand-side of the main body is very 1996-home-pagey. Why are the links using the default colours of purple and blue? Do you think they coordinate well with the banner and menu?
There’s no preview when submitting comments. Embedded URLs in comments don’t go anywhere. There’s no text formatting capabilities.
Clicking the Archived News button in the menu and then clicking any period results in just one news entry.
The forum is now empty and is graphically uncoordinated.
My login name is now case sensitive.
I attempted to reset my password and I was sent an empty email.
Regards.

Yey, brilliant! Looks really nice and the new feed is nice.
What’s with all the popups? You’re keeping my blocker busy. :-P

thanks for the work with the new site design! I’m diggen the speed increase and the site design.

Ouch … the old forum content is gone (will it be moved over/converted to WP eventually?), and the new content consists of 100% pure spam so far. :-(
+1 for comment preview. :-)

Spam on the forum’s been fixed; thanks for the heads up!

The new look is great, however it’s broken in Opera. Check it out: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v91/Killdozer/ohnoes.jpg
Also in Firefox, the post numbers are outside the white block, and are barely visible against the dark background. A minor point.
I second the motion regarding the need for a preview button, and some rudimentary text formatting things, so that I can check my spelling and presentation when I’M ENRAGED AND SHOUTING or merely trying to be emphatic.
On another note, I’d just like to say thanks for all the work you guys have put into the site over the years.

it’s too hard to read.
I think it’s the dark on light and the font.
The previous font/colors were easier on the eyes.

Much much better bud. I can actually log in now.

Resetting emails will sending a blank email.(I was not able to duplicate this one)
Cursed about the pop-ups ads. We are NOT suppose to get them.

Hooray! A decent RSS feed! Thank you!

I’m glad that I don’t get yet another login form data saved in my SeaMonkey when I make a comment, which I got each time with the old site, but I did like the old colors more, not that much a fan of brownish designs.

At work, I’m unable to read the comments as I have to use IE (version 6 I think). I can try to get a screen shot if you can’t see the same issues.
