We will release an updated linux client tonight or tomorrow. This firstversion will not have VOIP, but it will let everyone play on 1.2 servers.
I plan to work out the voicechat support within the next few days and releaseanother update. For now we are pretty busy monitoring the autoupdate processand the general 1.2 rollout.
The patch brings balance tweaks, fireteam improvements, a refined Stopwatchmode, various user interface changes, bot updates, and the usual bugfixes.

Did you able it to install it?
Or have you forgotten to chmod 754 ETQW-client-1.2-full.r2.x86.run
Works fine for me

I want to point out that I predicted we wouldn’t get VOIP — we’ve been through this before. TTimo says maybe in the next version we’ll get it, so maybe we will. Actually, VOIP is annoying — I can’t really understand a lot of the American accents and most people just talk about nonsense anyway. Still. :) Its only useful for fireteams.. and honestly, its less useful then say, Mumble since your guild members can join it without going in a game..

I Don’t care for VOIP myself. Other players will just might tell you to “shut up” anyway.
