Wine 0.9.43
August 12th, 2007 by MarvVersion 0.9.43 of Wine, the free implementation of Windows on Unix, has been released. Changelog for this release includes:
- Direct3D support on top of WGL instead of GLX for better portability.
- Many DirectSound fixes.
- Still more gdiplus functions.
- Many crypt32 improvements.
- Lots of bug fixes.

Wine works fine for me. Unfortunately Google Talk does not work under Wine, I don’t know why.

I don’t know why the Google Talk software does not work under Wine. May be due to the network layers.
I like using proprietary but free of charge windows application under wine. I am reporting bugs to Wine HQ. Google Talk is not yet supported.
I try also Windows game demos under Wine but don’t buy these games as I prefer spending my money on Linux softwares
