I could ask the same question about their ATi driver comparisons. The usualy thinking behind using the lowest end part for comparison is basically this: it will show you the most absolute difference between driver or O.S. versions. 

However, IMHO and experience this is not the case, and the extreme highend parts are usually the ones to show the utmost deviation from the norm.
