I'd rather have ID make a good game, then worring about making a beta Linux client before shipping. Us Linux users are a small minority gaming we're lucky to get what we get and Boycotting things doesn't help any.

It's true there aren't that many linux players. It's also true that that many linux clients. I appreciate the work. It's also true that I have every windows player I meet would format their rig tomorrow if a Linux version for the majority of games were available. ID sets the gold standard. So let's all ponder that scenario.

Linux players on ID games typically beat down everyone else, so I don't at all mind the numbers atm. More for me. And thanks again Timothy.

I just thought I'd mention that the Open Beta is currently working on the latest wine build.

I don't have a link handy, just got home from work, but full details are on the community site.

Not necessarily for the technical side of the house, for sure one can always tell by looking at who's playing what OS they're on.. That's not really important INSIDE id, but OUTSIDE, out there in industry, that's all people look at.. I'm sure EA or Atari aren't gonna come to your door and ask to poll your servers for Linux gamer numbers.. Businesses only care about teh monies, and don't care about gamers..

If -other companies- are gonna consider ports for linux, they'll do it based on the sales they see, n'est-pas??
