"It isn't liberated if It isn't liberated if it isn't open source, it just doesnt cost, so what? How is it liberated if you have to depend on a few people to make sure it works properly."

That's a good point actually. I wasn't sure about it, so I talked to one of the two guys that ported it. Said they had the source since the beginning. But I don't see anyone else with it, so it's not opened anymore than any other port.

It's just free as in cost. Maybe that'll change in the future. And if it doesn't, it will die. We all know the outcome of closed systems.

This is totally rediculous. Dont support them because you got 6 months of support and then a third party patch which incorporated all the issues from e? Ok, lets consider that their development team lost their lead linux developer almost immediately post production, that this indie company of what, 6 employees? still produced a functional, enjoyable commercial game, that the game was able to be patched correctly, and that its now free? Grow up or get the hell out of the linux community. Next time I stick you with 3 developers and tell you to do X and then fire 2 of them, lets see how well you manage at that point.

Not only do they not actively support it, but six months after it was released when people like me BOUGHT it they didn't support it. They NEVER released a 2.00e patch. This meant you couldn't play online without some 3rd party hacks. Give me a break and stop giving these lossers free kudos they don't deserve. Don't buy savage2, vote with your wallets.

The difference between 2.00c and 2.00e isn't that great. Installing the SEP patch will bring it up to date and you need it anyway to play on the popular servers. Simply follow the instructions from the link to the bottom of the download page and it will work fine.

There is no 2.00e linux client. The last Linux patch was 2.00c. Theoretically, you can make the game compatible with 2.00e by applying some community-released patch.

I tried all this about 6 months ago with my copy and didn't have any luck.
