Spying on Dominions 3 Development Progress
August 7th, 2006 by micksIn case you’ve never heard of the Dominions series of games, they can be briefly summed up as having horribly ugly graphics (which people sometimes opt to call “a slightly dated interface”) and also being some of the best turn-based strategy games ever. While the developers from Illwinter Game Design don’t seem to care too much about the first fact, they have apparently decided to further improve on the other and Dominions 3: The Awakening has now been in development for quite some time.
Since fans are getting somewhat restless, Illwinter, in cooperation with the game’s publisher, Shrapnel Games, decided to let everybody have a peek at the game’s progress on a special dedicated webpage which gets updated almost daily. As of this writing, Dominions 3 is at version 2.94.

Already pre-ordered mine about two months ago. I loved Dominions 2, and expect that this will be great as well.

The only issue I had with Dom2 was the tiny little bitmap unit graphics. They’re too small, they need to be redrawn at a higher resolution and looking at the Dom3 screenshots it appears they’re still there.
