A reader alerted us to ASSS, A Small SubSpace Server, an open source server for the Windows-native SubSpace client Continuum. Moreover, a patch for Wine was pointed out which allows Continuum to be run under Linux; there’s a Wiki page delineating the installation steps.

I used to play this game and asked the developers about a Linux port. I was told that they would not release the souce (because they thought you HAD to do that in Linux) so no port was planned. I tried to get it working in wine long ago but failed, glad to see they got it working.
Now to wait for a native SDL port… (one was in the works but never finished)

I also used to play this game. It was good, but not worth messing with Wine for. I’ll just stick with Xpilot unless a native port is made.
