I hope they offer a way to pay and download the game (like Savage 2 is doing). It’s a great way to distribute games like this and much more convenient. If I have to search around for a box online, pay shipping, pay massive VAT, I’m not sure I’ll get it. Let me pay online and download and I’m sold.

Congrats to LGP on the release. It’s a really great game, and offers something different for Linux gamers. I’ve been hoping we’d see a quality space sim for a long time.

There’s no doubt, X2 is a lot of fun. I have the Windows version, and I’ll be looking to snap up the Linux one now. This is a pretty huge game, and it has tons of user-made content. It’s also scriptable to some extent, and moddable.
[br]I’m interested in how they addressed control mapping, as it was a weak point in the Windows version. Since linux handles joysticks differently, it seems possible that they have re-written the I/O routines. You want a decent full-sized joystick to really enjoy this game, preferably with lots of buttons all over it.

Where can I get a docking computer in the test universe?

Already Pre-ordered it. I prefer X2 over X3 anyways. Hopefully they will fix the terrible Windows Keyboard mapping. I still haven’t memorized that, and it never made any sense where they put the buttons for alot of things. Also whats up with the horrible LGP Logo Video and choppy Intro movie? The game is smooth, but the Intro where he steals the ship is choppy even on a high end NVidia 6800. Is that just the demo or is it the same in Final release?
