Of note for game developers: CNET is reportingthat Sun Microsystems was at theGame Developers Conference to promoteProject Darkstar, which aims to simplify cross-platform game development. Among Darkstar’s efforts is the Sun Game Server, their Java-based “game agnostic, platformagnostic server technology” intended for use in massive multiplayer gameprojects. An early access release of SGS has been made available, along withAPI documentation.

They’re promoting cross-platform game development but when you go their project website, the only download available is a Windows executable…
