CityScape 0.0.7-devel2
February 22nd, 2006 by CrusaderA reader sent in a release announcement for CityScape version 0.0.7-devel2; the changelog notes that this build is intended for for developers and other interested parties. Inspired by titles such as Grand Theft Auto, CityScape will be an open-ended free-roaming car simulation set in the future.

They provide an installer for Windows, but only source for Linux. I wish people would stop assuming that just because we run Linux, we’re willing to go out of our way to hunt down and install gobs of dependency bloat, not to mention patching broken configure scripts, etc etc, just to try something out.

It is a release for developers and interested people. It’s not a fully working game yet. The .msi is for people on windows who often don’t have compilers but would like to try it out and maybe create some artwork. If you want a package for your distribution you can file a request at the trac site.
