No Gravity 2.0
February 19th, 2006 by LightkeyNo Gravity is a 3D space shooter that was liberated a year ago. The original developers planned to wait one year to let the project mature and release a significant new major Version.
Function wise the changes in No Gravity 2.0 are:
- New input controls (joystick, mouse and keyboard).
- Ability to configure 3rd and 4th joystick axis.
- Bug fixes in input configuration.
- Autopackage installer.
The biggest change though was to put the game data under the GPL (mostly because of a request from a Linux distribution), thus allowing other projects to make use of it.

This is actually pretty cool.
I hope it does get included in distros. It would make a change from tuxracer.

autopackage sucks.

On my SuSE 10.0 X86_64 system, autopackage fails with a series of confusing error messages that don’t appear to have anything to do with real problems. Checking the source out and compiling works, but the app segfaults immediately.
Too bad – the screenshots look cool.
