A64FX-60 vs. PEE955, clash of the titans!

Today, LinuxHardware.org is back after a long wait with a marvelous test as expected, comparing today’s released AMD Athlon 64 FX-60 with intel’s Pentium Extreme Edition 955 that will be available on January 16 along with a new chipset, both dual core chips and adding the fastest single core CPUs from both sides for good measure.

$1000 = cpu
$550 * 4 = quad 7800gtx sli
nuclear reactor to power all the parts and the air conditioner in summer = priceless

Did run the memcoder test on my current machine and it lost with 141% against the AMD dual core, I had expected more for the amount of money, this don’t make me to get that excited of those new x86 64bits.

I remember paying over $1000 dollars for my Pentium II 400mhz processor…
I got my moneys worth, It’s still powering my Linux fileserver… with close to 2TB of storage.
