No ATI driver news without me!

I must say that I’m impressed. I’ve got the latest kernel 2.6.13 and the driver installed and ran without a hitch. The framerates are the highest I’ve ever had for this card and the 2-D display quality is now as good as the xorg radeon driver. You can see from the install logs and fglrxconfig that ATI finally gets it. Way to go.
As for install Nvidia guy – although your presence is pleasantly nostalgic, I think it’s time for you to get a life (or a wife).

The ati drivers still suck ass.

I’m pleased to see this feature added, afaict the same as the free drivers had some time, but is there something we need to do to activate it? The documentation gives no hints, and other features are oddly buried in the config file (particularly the “Capabilities” bitfield).

Xpress 200M with Sideport STILL broken. How hard is this to fix?

I haven’t installed the drivers yet, but .. I see it has xinerama support now. This is about friggan time. I’ve been pineing for this for a while now, and its finally here.
The other features are nice too, it’d be nice to see some speed benchmarks that this new driver pulls, I’m hoping that someday ATI cards will be as good as choice for linux as nVidia currently is.
It -is- getting better.
