OpenML Goes Open Source

July 27th, 2005 by Crusader

The Khronos Group has released the OpenML Reference Implementation and SDK under the SGI Free Software License C; OpenML is a cross-platform API for digital media with support for 3D graphics and video streams:

It standardizes support for audio, video, 2D graphics, and OpenGL API 3D graphics at the thinnest possible layer on top of the hardware. Extensions to the OpenGL API add capabilities for synchronization with other parts of the system, for improved rendering performance and quality, and for improved treatment of video formats

Pre-compiled binaries for OpenML 1.1 and the full source tree are available at Sourceforge.
