just wipe a Knoppix or Gnoppix live system down to its base, and work on testing it in a ROM filesystem.

Also, I think their choice of games is a little bit sadening. KDEGAMES and TUXKART should not be there. Tuxkart is abandoned and another project has opened shop in its place, and also is equally as slow. I would include Kendrick's TUXTYPING game because that is an awfully cute option to young children :-). There is much more! Anyone remember Xevil (it came with RedHat 5.x). Also, I would especially look into experimenting with TENEBRAE or NEXUIZ on the install. We realy don't need KDE if it's going to be a liveCD dedicated to applications, but the most beautiful desktop you could imagine would certainly boost the image of somthing Linux-like. I see KDE and GNOME as being possibly too cumbersome to configure. Right-click on a KDE session and let me know how difficult that long list of options appears to be to someone new to it. I certainly entertain using an independent desktop environment ontop an X server, such as a combination of ROX (http://rox.sf.net) and XFCE or whatever is the true contender for being the fastest window manager. ROX is a quite simple alternative desktop to KDE and GNOME. Aren't KDE and GNOME re-inventing a world inside a world, of which they thoroughly disagree on its fundamental purpose to accomplish networked graphics (X servers), to compete with an alternative system of networked layer of graphics? Everyone wants to look upon KDE and GNOME as authorities on the desktop, but they really are applications with no more purpose than to slow down any viable computer system of its resources to execute code. Copy and Paste operations between desktops and xclipboard is hosed!

If you can get is for five bucks, that is the perfect price for the cheap Wal-Mart games row. I doubt they will be able to get it into Wal-mart, but that would be a good sell for them. Just need one thing on the front. (don't think that would be a lie)

PC-Compatible

And they will come, and buy, and wonder what the hell linux is, and still buy the second edition (for five bucks), and still wonder what linux is.
