Phoronix On NVIDIA Driver Performance

June 27th, 2005 by Crusader

Phoronix let us know that they’ve pitted NVIDIA’s lastest Linux driver, version 1.0-7667, against its predecessors in a new benchmarking article. Unreal Tournament 2004 and DOOM III were both utilized for the tests; there appears to be no readily discernable gains over 1.0-7664, which isn’t a huge surprise since the main change this round was the addition of GeForce 7800 support.

I think it would be more interesting to see how the ATI driver has progressed. The Nvidia driver has been top notch for a good while and ATI is the one playing catch up.
