Soul Ride Gold
Linux Game Publishing announced today that their Soul Ride snow boarding port is gold. This means that the game image is final, and will be replicated. We’ll post an update when the game is actually available for purchase. Here is their description of the game:
Take yourself to the edge in the most challenging and realistic snowboarding game to come to Linux. No visibility limits, real-world terrain, and physics-based gameplay. Find uncharted backcountry descents on extreme terrain in the California Sierras and Tuckerman Ravine in New Hampshire. Heli-drop yourself onto precarious summits, and test your ability to find a line to the base. Play back the thrills and spills using the virtual VCR.

The game runs fine, but there is some occasional stuttering.

Like:
I really like the concept of snowboarding on accurate representations of real mountains, and the controller looks fun.
Dislike:
The graphics are so bad that they interfere with gameplay.
I only played the demo, so maybe that was the beta or something. Looks like a hobby-quality game, not a comercial one.

Is LGP one person? I preordered some game or another from them so long ago I can’t even remember. Got a beta a few years ago, never have seen a project. Soul Ride took forever and I remember a free demo the company coded themselves. So LGP took forever to release a game that already ran under Linux. Don’t hold your breath for another game for a few more years. Anyone care to correct me?
