Nexuiz to be GPL’ed
May 18th, 2005 by CrusaderLee Vermeulen sent in notice that the deathmatch game Nexuiz, which utilizes the Quake-derived DarkPlaces engine, will be released under the GNU General Public License:
Secondly, Nexuiz will be entirely GPL. This is a major first for any project of its type. I hope this will bring more popularity, more donations and support, and also allow Nexuiz to be distributed on Linux distros.
There are also new screenshots; Nexuiz is currently in beta testing.

1. This game is never going to be finished.
2. Could it be released under anything else being that the engine is GPL’d?

sorry for all this hype and news with no releases, but the game is basically done. The problem is I want to wait till walk prediction is in, which has been delaying it.
I’d think the same as the the first comment if i was keeping up with the project, I really need to keep people more updated on the game’s status

I am looking forward to it…

one really has to wonder how much machine the game is _really_ going to require to be *playable*. 500$ video card? If it’s as slow as doom3 it won’t be for me, sadly :(
