Team Fortress for Enemy Territory Tomorrow

January 14th, 2005 by Crusader

The ETF team has announced that they will be releasing their Team Fortress-based modification for Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory tomorrow, January 15th:

I wanted to send out a quick update letting everyone know that we are on track for the release this Saturday the 15th.

Also I want to make very clear to everyone that you do not need to buy anything to play ETF. The only thing you will need to do is download Enemy Territory which is FREE and you can find the download links here (you will also need the Enemy Territory 1.02 patch which is also in our files section), and then will need to download ETF on release.

A level guide has also been posted, which can be found here.

I played the shit out of team fortress for quakeworld, and TF classic for half life. I even played a lot of Q3F… I gotta say that I feel like it is played out. There’s a TF for everything — Unreal Tournament, UT2003, ET, probably soon there’ll be Team Doom Fortress. Each version has their own bastardizations — the original was the best, until everyone discovered conc jumping and bunny hopping. Others either decided to copy that, or add their own bastardizations.

meh. maybe I’m just old and bitter, but it’s hard for me to get excited about YATFC (yet another team fortress clone).

I’d like to hear from someone that has tried it yet, how does the game feel?
I’m having exams, so I better avoid it. ;)

    It’s just like Q3F.

Sniping is still goofy, where if fires on button release instead of button click.

It’s really bland and uninteresting. I don’t see why anyone would want to play this over good old enemy territory.

TF needs some time to be enjoyed, you gotta learn the classes and how to use them properly. After that it can be an amazing game, better than any other form of multiplayer gaming IMHO.

The ATI driveres should be released today. This means that all people who have starved with their x.org 6.8 and 64bit processors, once again can frag on the servers.
So excect the servers to be crowded tonight – a lot of people will be coming back.
