Linux X-Plane Incoming
October 31st, 2004 by CrusaderA lot of people have been waiting years for this news: a beta version 8.0 of X-Plane for Linux will be available “soon”; X-Plane is widely regarded as one of the most advanced and versatile flight simulators available (a sister project, Space Combat, has been available for Linux for some time).
You can read more about X-Plane’s features here; moreover, a set of X-Plane utilities (Airfoil-Maker, Plane-Maker, and Weather-Briefer) are ready for downloading now. X-Plane 8.0 Utils Download: [ BitTorrent ]

I would probably fill this post with expletives if I did.
I have been hoping and praying for this for years. You’ve certainly sold an extra copy here, Austin. May even get a new machine just for it.

Who / what caused Austin to change his mind?

I just get errors trying to extract the Linux download of Space Combat. Anyone else have that problem?

This is great news!
Besides Flightgear, X-Plane will fit very nicely in my collection of Flight Simulators for Linux.
