setting antestrophy to lowest setting in config and then using the Nvidia Control Panel to set AA and AS in Linux? I know with some Windows OpenGL based games like Il2 FB they get a big improvement in performance getting the frivers to set AA and AS settings rather than ingame. It has worked for me on my Linux version of Doom3.

Now if only they would get ALSA support happening as my audio hardware Envy 1712 (DSP24 C-Port) seems to have problems with OSS emulation under ALSA. Bloody good sound hardware though especially for the price but crap support from it's makers.

I s'pose it'd be nice to have framerates in the 50's and 60's but doom the 3rd works very well in the linux nvidia environment (and it's only an early version too don't forget), and well worth the bux as will the expansion I'm sure. I refuse to spend more than the midlevel range on hardware, and it'll be a while before the new generation is worth my money. The doom3 engine will be running a lot of games by then.

I can't wait, I loved playing Doom3.

I must be one of the lucky bastards out there, I can run Doom3 on my dual pentium 3 733mhz linux box. It's actually playable. ... though on my 1.73ghz athlon it's even more playable:)

I bought the game installed on Linux and can't f u c k i n g play it because the f u c k i n g pos ATI driver crashes. How nice to see the expansion, perhaps by the time it's out; ATI will release drivers that crash even more!

I feel that this release is going to be a huge flop. I shelled ~60 for d3 and didnt even finish it, only playing ut2004 or other nice mp game (like et by the way).
You won't get my money on this one.
