rm -Rf ~/.ut2004demo

Even after checking my settings, I was still unable to login to a game.  Nuking that directory and signing in again worked like a charm.

Note: By removing that directory, you loose all your settings.  Since this is a demo, this should not be a concern.  When in doubt, back it up;

mv  ~/.ut2004demo  ~/delete_later.ut2004demo]]></description>
