UT2004 Demo v3334
September 24th, 2004 by CrusaderVersion 3334 of the Unreal Tournament 2004 demo has been released; this version includes two additional maps (one Onslaught and one CTF), so it’s worth checking out even if you’ve played the original demo but don’t already own the retail version.

Delete .ut2004demo in your home directory;
rm -Rf ~/.ut2004demo
Even after checking my settings, I was still unable to login to a game. Nuking that directory and signing in again worked like a charm.
Note: By removing that directory, you loose all your settings. Since this is a demo, this should not be a concern. When in doubt, back it up;
mv ~/.ut2004demo ~/delete_later.ut2004demo
