Savage Enhancement Project

September 16th, 2004 by Crusader

The community-developed Savage Enhancement Project has been released for the RTS/FPS-hybrid Savage (thanks linuX-gamers.net). The README points out that this includes, among a great many other improvements, the necessary workaround to bypass authentication until the next Linux patch is released by S2 Games.

I was just saying to a friend of mine today that we should start playing this again. I guess someone else thought that was a good idea :)

It cost 49 pound at tuxgames.com
    but only 34.99 $ at Amazon.com

    IMO to expensive.
It might be true that the Linux Game market
is something special and that it can have its own prices but Savage ships as a Linux AND Windows version in one box and that means that tuxgames.com needs to compete with stores that sell games for windows when they want earn some money with Savage.

Hi, dont know what to do, but tried playing my LEGALLY downloaded savage again after a 6 month abscens from it. (Installed gentoo on my box between times it was playable and not) Now I can’t log in (Failed to connect to Authentication server). I do have a profile, tried recreating it, and all but in vain. Anybody with the same problem and got a fix for it?

I can ping the server from my box, but…uh what’s happening? <:-(

I will never understand why there has been no links to the s2games site on the left menus of linuxgames.com.

Doesn’t s2games deserve the right to have a link to linux supporters ? I asked to one of the linuxgames.com developer why and had no answer. I think this migth have been a positive inpact on the sells IMHO.

However, long lives to linux gamers ;) …

PS. Ok the link is down right now is a good reason ;)

My friends and I preordered _9_ copies of this game last september… we quickly created a clan (Krazo – http://www.krazo.com) and have been playing competitively since then.

Just a couple of weeks ago we finally got fed up… the community is falling apart – clans are quitting the leagues left and right. All of the master server problems mean that the community WILL NOT grow in the future…. it is effectively dead.

We gave up and have now moved on to Star Wars Battlefront (Picked my copy up at midnight last night).

A couple of the guys in my clan are some of the key members of this project… and I wish them well…. but it is time to move on.

I will never by another S2Games (or whoever they morph into) game again.
