Getting some old news out of the way tonight:

Freshmeat pointed out that thefollowing game projects were updated recently:

  • EDGE version1.28 (download),a DOOM engine source port.
  • Yabause version 0.0.4 (download), a SegaSaturn emulator in the early stages of development.
  • Gem Hunters version 20040529 (download),a gem-based puzzle game.
  • tksolversion 1.8.1 (download),a Tcl/Tk-based solitaire game.

Slashdot had a few gaming-related articlesof note:

  • An articlenoting the release of a Linux-based bootable QuakeWorld CD: QWCD
  • A discussionabout developing games with OpenAL, theopen source audio library.
  • For those that play Flash-based games, notice that Flash 7 wasreleased forLinux.
  • Finally, a blurbmentioning that Raven’s Quake IV will not befeatured at this year’s QuakeCon.

The Linux Game Tome pointed out theserecent releases:

Oh yeah, the most recent issue of EB’s GMR print magazine had an interviewwith Chris Vrenna concerning the DOOM III score, which I believe is the firstconfirmation that he worked on the upcoming first-person shooter’s music.
