Isn't it great how some people feel the need to spout off about a "Sick" game and how they're not going to buy it. I LOVE this game (yeah, sorry, played it on windows) and I WILL buy the game for linux. What's better than playing the Snatch game (basically capture the flag, but you have to snatch the other team's "Bitch" Great fun gunning down people while they're carrying a wriggling chick over their shoulders.

People need to chill out and just accept this game for what it is, great fun. And you can't tell me that someone hasn't pissed you off enough before that you didn't want to pee on them or hit them with a shovel. Of course we DON'T actually do it, but the thought crosses our minds.. If we DID actually do that, we'd probably at least get fined, or arrested. If you can't tell the difference between a virtual world where you can do whatever you want, and the real world where if you do whatever you feel like, you'll probably have a nice new boyfriend in prison...

And as said before, RWS created this game specifically FOR those people that get up in arms about it. Why? Because they get lots of free publicity from them! The game itself is FUN though, so go buy it now.

Besides all of this political crap, the game is pretty sweet and i'm happy that it has been ported to Linux. Cudos to Icculus for a job well done. SUPPORT LINUX GAMING AND BUY THE GAME! It's the only way more games will be ported. And, as per some suggestions above, not only crappy, eight year old games get ported to linux. A lot of good games are/have been ported.

Beggars can't be choosers. This has been said many times before, but it evidently needs to be said again.

Big companies out there simply don't care about moralistic ideals. Linux is cool - it also doesn't generate the sales required to even re-coup development costs.

If you want more games on linux ported by the big houses [and that's what you're really asking for, deep down], you need to show that there's some interest of the sort that companies care about - financial.

If Postal2 only sells 300 copies [seems to not be an unreasonable estimate, given the attitude of the people on forums like this and slashdot], what possible incentive would EA have to give us Madden NFL, or whatever your particular game of choice is?

Petitions don't work. E-mailing Icculus doesn't work [and god knows, people appear to have tried]. E-mailing other people on icculus.org doesn't work [people try that one, too, in a guilt-by-association kinda way]. You want the attention of big companies? Vote with your wallets.

Wait. Lemme put that again.
[b]Vote with your wallets[/b]

I've been doing it for a while. I believe that in the end it's the only way to get better games. I like to think I've played some [probably infintesimally] small part in the fact that UT2k4 even exists on Linux. And if you can afford the machine to play it, refusing to spend 40 bucks on Postal2 when it's the only thing available to you just doesn't gel, in my mind.

Oh - and if you're prepared to spend 15 bucks on a postal game, then why not buy postal 1 from tuxgames? It's not like the longevity is all that different, from the reviews I'm seeing here.

Wait a second. The gopostal site says it's $19.95 for the game, yet tuxgames has it for $40. Don't tell me the Linux version is going to cost twice as much. Is that right?
