I notice that while BNetd no longer exists (as a formal entity anyway) all their work is now in at least 3 other BNet server emulators that haven't heard so much as a peep from VU. Apparently being high profile gets you bitten in the ass in the open source world.

God I hope a decent DMCA case gets sent before the Supreme Court soon!

I know that many dislike blizzard because of their actions against freecraft and bnetd. But hey, that is the world that we live in. I think that many game companies would do the same, remember that Q2 mod, Quake Generations that was shutdown by ID software, yet everyone seem to adore John Carmack and ID. Like a few of you have argued Blizzard is one of the game companies that can sell games because of their name, Diablo2 wasn't so good, Warcraft3 wasn't either, yet alot of players seem to buy them. World of Warcraft might be better and I would like to see it coming to linux. Do as you wish, one of the few thing a consumer can do is to chose where to spend its money, if you hate Blizzard, don't buy Blizzard.

I'm going to have to step in line with the "troll's" here in that I can't see myself supporting people that treat their potential customer's like crap. The DMCA moves they've been making don't inspire confidence.

How does that saying go.. "When the revolution comes, you'll be the first up against the wall."

That about sums it up. They can blow.
