Savage 2.00b/c

January 24th, 2004 by Crusader

A quick update was released for S2 Games for their RTS/FPS-hybrid title Savage, presumably to fix issues with the previous patch (I don’t have a changelog handy). There’s also an additional dedicated server-only patch for admins. Thanks to everyone in the comments below for the heads up!

Savage 2.00b Patch (Full – 73MB): [ 3ddownloads ]
Savage 2.00b to 2.00c (Server-side Only – 1MB): [ 3ddownloads ]

b]2.00b to 2.00c Changelog
o Fixed a flaw in the reliable packet sending code which was causing clients to sometimes get dropped between maps or receive bad data on a server connect
o Fixed a bug where the world config file wasn’t getting loaded on the server, causing servers to use the wrong farclip setting when determining which data to send. This fix should reduce traffic somewhat.
o Added extra client side network debugging info when cl_debug and con_developer are on
o Never add teammates to the client’s exclusion list
o Added in some extra information for people running “speedtest” demos, namely average FPS and total frame count, so clients interested in that may want to download this patch also

2.00a to 2.00b changelog
o Fixed performance issue caused by invalid model load attempts by the game
o added “mediainfo” command which displays the number of invalid and valid media loads
o added lots of nice performance info to “showGamePerf”. shows the client frame in much more detail than it did previously.

greets from linux-gamers.net :)
