I don’t have Heretic and bought Heretic II from Loki. I have the Heretic Demo; anyone know if Heretic Demo will work with the GLHeretic engine?

As to explain the Subject “ID Software general store appended to CD-ROM”, I have a few CD-ROMs of the Doom genera IIRC and a couple of them feature an odd ID Software setup tool that says if I provide it the correct number or passphrase then it will install my choice of the full versions of Doom (1 or 2) or Heretic or Hexen (IIRC). It says those “games” are on the CD-ROM and will only install one or more of them after I pay some ($30+) fee directly to one Middle Man for a contract (and passphrase/number). It’s interesting that they are all squeazed onto the same CD-ROM, highly encrypted and highly compressed… (*sly grin*( I would hate to hear from someone in this forum on a crack, exploit, or otherwise to bypass the Middle Man and install one of those applications. Wouldn’t that be a shame if someone replied with that information… Gosh I hope someone doesn’t tell us how…

Yes, glHeretic works with the demo. I am unashamed to admit that I think my own project is the better looking Heretic engine, but this one is more stable and complete.

I recently loaded all my floppies onto my hard-disk and made a CD. Unfortunately some of them were very old and Heretic had to be binned. I really enjoyed this game as I did Hexen too. It for me was the fantasy version of Doom.
