I have a couple nieces who like puzzles (just gave them 7th Guest and even though they are only 8 and 10 years old, they plowed through floor one in a couple hours).
$50 seems like a good deal for two years.

In Firebird and Mozilla I just get a “Save to disk” prompt when I click “Play Now” (which is supposed to open in the browser).
It’s saying it doesn’t know how to handle an ‘application/x-java-jnlp-file’ so it wants to save it to disk.
Java is installed and works on other pages.

There’s a minimum age for Puzzle Pirates, and I’m fairly certain your nieces are a bit too young.. It is a massively multiplayer online game, after all.
