America’s Army 2.0 Testers Needed
November 9th, 2003 by CrusaderRyan “icculus” Gordon posted the followingrequest last night:
We have an immediate need for moreArmyOps testers for the 2.0 Linuxclient. Those accepted will need to be available for intensive testing overthe next few days (and start immediately), and have a high-speed connection todownload several hundred megabytes quickly. Time is of the essence; if you are interested, please readthis, which was writtenin regards to a previous beta test…it will give you an idea of what I’mlooking for in a tester. Then, write tobetatests@icculus.org and tell mewhy you should be a tester.
Beta testers that don’t suck are welcomed back without the need to reapply foreach version, which means you get to see the whiz-bang shiny new stuff beforeeveryone else.
The newest version of the US Defense Department-developed first-personshooter adds training/gameplay for Special Forces operations.

Its an interesting point brought up in the “guidelines” link. How obnoxious it must be to have warez operators masquerade as beta testers.

People who like combat really need to hurry. The next version is only going to feature 20 levels of strategic retreating.

I’m surprised people don’t have more to bitch about than a computer game. Seriously people, take a rage dump and try and grasp a little reality. You’ll have a lot less stress in your life and fewer ulcers if you just accept things for what they are and go have a cup of coffee.
I won’t play America’s Army because it’s boring. You can’t just jump in and play, you have to “train” first. As if everyone that is even remotely interested in playing this game hasn’t played an FPS game before!
But it is free so I guess you can’t complain to loudly…

I home it will have fixes for Compressed Textures. My 3d card lack those and AA 1.x won’t run.
