If, like me, you haven’t played Dominions 1, the lack of a tutorial makes picking this title up a little tricky. This posting contains a lot of info about the game, including some techniques and tactics to experiment with.

Just a slightly more intuitive interface (esp. the adventure map gives a much better overview now) and some more factions.
The 3D-view on the battles doesn’t make it up.
Illwinter preserved the proven mechanism of Dom 1, so I doubt that buying Dom 2 is worth it.

Is this actually available for purchase yet ?
Tux games lists the availablity as “Expected 30 Oct”. Perhaps they are waiting for stock to arrive ?
