		<description><![CDATA[These look like some serious improvements. Non-blocking ALSA, and greatly increased DGA speed stick to mind. Now every CVS game you have will demand the new SDL dev package... oh well. I bet its either being uploaded to Debian Unstable now or somebody&#039;s compiler is cranking. This will cause a ripple effect through the games packages. Hmm... better wait a bit before updating ;-)

I do believe that bringing up those audio services dynamically by running an application is a security risk.  I can think of a dozen shell exploits to wrap those daemons to another service to execute arbitrary code.

FusionSound (of DirectFB.org fame), XFree86 Audio Extensionm YIFF Sound Server, [b]aRts[/b], [b]ESD[/b]...some others I can&#039;t remember.  There are many, with YIFF having the most potential.]]></description>
