Savage Goes Gold
S2 Games has announced that Savage, their upcoming real-time strategy shooter, has gone gold. The release date is now set for September 9th.
It’s a little unfortunate that the Linux client isn’t mentioned in this press release, but as previously reported, there will be a Linux client released at the same time as the Windows client. On the other hand, perhaps we should be thankful that we’re getting a client at all and that it’s coming at the same time as the main release.

Their press release was about the GAME.. And they didn’t mention EITHER OS that it runs on.. So they didn’t leave out that it runs on linux..
And BTW this game ROCKS!.. And runs very nicely on linux..

I pre-ordered 2 weeks ago and was allowed to d/l the beta (as promised by s2). I can’t say much due to the nda, but I will say i’m totally stoked by this game. More after the nda is lifted!

Either moderation should be added, or registration should be compulsory.
This is going too far.

The worst trend on the Internet right now is sites becoming more like Slashdot. Moderation is a curse that should be avoided.
To clean up this forum, a system of email-validated accounts with a “three strikes” policy would need to be employed. Until someone writes that, you’re all perfectly capable of using your brains to filter out useless information. Or possibly you’re not… since you are using the Internet in the first place.

I just put down $40 to reserve 8 of these games at Gamestop. Yes I did say EIGHT. It is for a big group of my gaming buddies.
I must say that a linux client being available at launch time has definitely helped us in deciding whether or not we are going to buy this game. We are spending over $400 dollars on the game next week (hopefully next wednesday if our gamestop gets them all in) - and you can count every single one of those dollars as linux buys.
Thank you very much S2 for the game - I hope (and I am pretty sure you will) you will be rewarded for targeting our niche OS.
