Puzzle Pirates goes Beta
Daniel James, CEO at Three Rings Design, Inc., wrote in to announce that theirpirate-themed puzzle MMP game Yohoho! Puzzle Pirates(screenshots) has gone in to the beta testing stage:

It also means that we’ll be launching soon, hopefully soon tobe followed by a shift away from the ramen diet.For those of you who need refreshing, Yohoho! Puzzle Pirates is aPirate-themed massively multi-player game in which Puzzle games occupycenter stage. PP has been rock-solid stable in alpha testing for nigh onnine months.
Three Rings is a small independent team with a focus on fun gameplay. ThePirate movie timing is just coincidence, but Puzzle Pirates being more funthan other MMPs is not.

Mozilla just tries to download dclient.jnlp, so how to start this game?

ok, im assuming you didnt read the information on puzzle pirates with regards to how to do this. Please refer to the very_good documentation on their pages with regards to installing this. Assuming you install JRE correctly, you can use javaws to start the game if your too lazy to go to the url, or you can go to the url.

So I have java 1.4.2 installed okay (and I can run java applets fine in my browser), but it still just wants to download the dclient.jnlp file when I click, instead of doing something clever with it.
I give up. :(

cute game..not sure why I had truble initally but it moght have been permission issues…cute little game for a diversion or just something different ..:))

This IS pretty neat (got mine working too, eventually). The most fun is probably getting together a bunch of pirates and playing the drinking game, and then getting angry when losing and picking a fight. YARRRRR!!!
