Just for everyones information, Tux Games NWN ships with an aproximation of cinematic support. All cinematics play natively from mpeg format, via a second executable, nwnmovies, that our installer creates. This program examines your savefiles, and plays the appropriate cinematic for you. It isnt as nice as having them ingame, but it DOES work and it does make it a lot nicer than trying to play them through a player in wine.
No messing around working out which movies to play, no messing with emulators, just run it and it shows you the right one.

here's the version 1.30 update for the linux client. it's largish, it's actually just a tarball of all of the changed files, but, here you go:
http://nwdownloads.bioware.com/neverwinternights/linux/130/linuxclientupdate129to130.tar.gz
(untar inside the nwn directory where you installed the game, with tar -xvf )

Bioware screwed up among otherthings. Yes, this is true, but by not buying the game and bitching about various things from price to whether you like it then you are doing a great disservice to the Linux gamming community. There are no simple market economics etc.. because the deck is stacked against us. Every user counts and one decision not to buy will contribute to wheter or not a large developer like Bioware will ever release for Linux again. Suck it up! You want gaming on Linux, then you have to sacrifice!

Either I'm reading it wrong, didn't they say they would ship a Linux CDrom??

So it seems as usuall Bioware have once agin gone back on their word!!!

I would buy this from tuxgames, but seen the company cannot seem to deliver as promised (Bioware), I probally won't buy a game, I wasn't impressed anyway with the demo version.

They put this up for orders over a year ago, counting on getting tons of orders and hoping to make a good profit. My friends on M$ were pushing me to get the product during the early linux beta so I ended up grabbing it from a local gamestop instead. Sadly by that time you could get a full copy of the game for $25, a far cry from the $50 tux games is charging.
