Hey Slothy. Has the beta test started already? I'm seeing a lot of people in the S2 forums talking about how they got in. If so, that's a shame. I wanted to see how well my Kyro 2 would handle the game under Linux. Oh well. ;)

I must admit, I'm pleasantly surprised at the potential this game has. Thanks for bringing it to Linux!

And perhaps it's just me, but it feels like the growth of commercial games available for Linux is accelerating rapidly. We're still missing the hits (I want C&C Generals, dammit!), but I'll take lesser-known, quality games, too.

in the new faq ( http://www.s2games.com/savage/faq.html#linuxormac ) they state:

29. Will there be a Linux or a Macintosh version?
We hope to ship the game with Linux support on the cd. Macintosh support is still undetermined.

This sounds pretty hopeful, hopefully its not like the nwn on cd linux support ;)

Just a note to slothy and the s2 guys, thanks for considering a linux client, hope you ship it, i will buy it (i may have to upgrade cpu tho :( and if you dont ship it - well thats ok, its not the only game in the world

This game looks very good - I fully intend to get it provided its a linux client and will run on my p3 550 gf2 box. It doesnt look like its going to come from a major publisher - so I wonder about avalibility - will there be a download edition, avalible in game shops over here (new zealand) avalible from tux games?

I have a feeling this game could be a major game for linux users, it looks like an early adopter, cutting edge game - just like us linux users ;)

I thought VIA/S3 already replaced the Savage product line with Alpha/DeltaChrome. What's going on?

I think this game is going to be incredible. I have been frothing at the mouth ever since I heard about it - and just about blew my load when I learned it was coming to linux.

The combination of RTS and FPS is going to be great. I can't wait to play it at one of the larger LAN parties around here - 32v32 on 100Mbit LAN is going to be great.
