It has been awhile since Shogo came out, and that was a pretty cool game.

  2. Says:

This one *SHOULD* sell more than Shogo’s 500 copies did… If not, then they’re doing something wrong.

  3. Says:

Well, that should certainly make some people happy. I must admit, a little diversity in the games might go a long way.

the news on the linux site seems a bit dead…

An actual car racer! I have been waiting for this moment :-D
Now I just hope it turns out to be good :-)

I knew if I kept moaning on Linux Games someone may listen one day ;)

Seriously, it should make a welcome change for all Linux gamers, to get a different type of game, presonally I prefer Motorbike games, just thats me, hint, hint!, looking at the screen shots its seems quite nice, definately will be on my shopping list :-)

Well done Hyperion, that will go nice with my version of Shogo, which was a pretty cool game..

It would sad to see hyperion going out of business due to a lack of support by the Linux communauty.

I hope that Midnight Racing will outperform Shogo in number of sale, hoping it reachs at least 1000 !

It would be pityfull, or at least laughable, if the Amiga version outperforms the Linux version as it was with Shogo.

Please stop annoying us with : “The windows version is better, I have already the Windows Version, It is not GPL, it is too expensive, I am not a gamer…” Please keep in mind that lot of Game companies like EA or Infogram have a look on what is happening on Linux market.

Moreover, Shogo and Sin are only for 20 $ , that ‘s a good deal compared to Majesty (37 $) or UT 2003 (50$).

Hyperion should be the First Linux game company, please support them and stop trolling !

  8. Says:

I wonder what have convinced them to keep supporting linux. Cant be the sales =) ..

I thought that these guys dropped off of the face of the planet in terms of Linux stuff. It’s nice to see that they have some projects to work on.

Well. Here’s the racer that people have been asking for. Has anyone played the Windows version?

  10. Says:

3D graphics, Hills, Flyovers, Tunnels and 4 way interchanges?

surely there can’t be such computational speed?

I’ll have to buy one of those welsh processors, wossisname, a Pent-y-um?

  11. Says:

Hyperion… Really. That racer is bad bad bad! It won’t sell.

  12. Says:

As to the question concerning if there will be a
LinuxPPC version… there will be both Linux x86 and LinuxPPC versions.

As to the why for the Linux version – we wanted to
give Linux another chance despite the bad Shogo and Sin sales. For a game which is already for two operating systems it is not that much of a “big thing” to add support for a third OS. But it is
for me at least sort of a “last try” if the Linux
game market is worth it. Well, we will see…

I personally like Linux (though I like AmigaOS better :) ).

As to people criticizing the game: I don’t actually see this many other racing games on Linux (and don’t say Tuxracer now, this doesn’t really
qualify as really being a racer in the strict sense of the word for me…)
