I have the Windoze version of Rune. And I have both versions of Tribes2 even (found the linux one cheap).

But I have to say Rune really 0wnz.

Saying the single player sucks, that I won't argue (tho it wasn't all bad).

But the great fun of being able to chop yer enemy to pieces online or when LAN'ning...

So.. if you don't like it, I'll just chop of your arm and beat you with it :P

Damn, all this bollocks about games here and there. No 2 ppl are the same, no 2 will have the same install. I for one only use Linux and if that means I can run Battlefield 1942 with crappy fonts and that it segs after a map, that's my choice.

I really believe transgaming will be fixing that in the near future anywayz. It's all about preferences and in the end I prefer to be myself.

So, what I really wanted to say was... I just want the 25034 update for Tribes2 to work.

It keeps segging on the :

./update.sh: line 60: 25167 Segmentation fault loki_patch --verify patch.dat

Maybe it's glibc related, maybe they created the patch before the 2.3.x probs...

Anyone have an idea?

IMHO it's not the greatest game on the market, the little I played with help of the demo from loki it was quite boring.
But a problem that the linux has, is that there are many who dualboots which makes they will most likely not play games when booted into linux. There is a need to look into the problem with preinstalled microsoft windows on new computers, there can hopefully come a change in this matter here in Europe, when the EU will investigate the matter with all this preinstalled microsoft windows whcih buyers are forced to take at a buy of a computer.
