Frozen Bubble 1.0.0
Version 1.0.0 of the Puzzle Bobble-inspired game Frozen Bubble (screenshots: 1 | 2 | 3) has been released; changes include:
- added level editor
- single player game now comes with 100 levels (instead of 50)
- re-designed graphics
- two player game features the chain reaction mechanism as an option

While I can understand why, the author comes down a little hard on Windows, MacOS X, and Solaris, but he comes off as being absolutely crazy.
I think just saying “the GPL lets you, but I ask you not to port to proprietary operating systems” would come off a lot better than what’s going on right now on the web page.
Oh… and Frozen Bubble kicks ass as a game. Very professional-looking, lots of fun. A bit of slow-down if you knock down a ton of bubbles at once, but that’s not really a big deal at all. For the price ($0!), it’s utterly fantastic.

I’m off topic but I have a question maybe someone here will be able to answer:-
How would one go about porting a win32 game which was created using a third party sound system called Miles Sound System? I mean would this cause a problem as it would have to be replaced by something else. Basically the game engine would request this module to play a sound and the module would go off and do it, so this would have to be either rewritten or emulated.
