Serious Sam: The First Encounter, Beta 2
February 6th, 2003 by MarvProbably of one of my personal favorite games to play, Serious Sam: The First Encounter has been updated to Beta 2. Bugs that have been fixed in this release include the following.
- Rocket launcher reports ammunition correctly, instead of being stuck at 50 or 100. Fixes Bug #243.
- Mouse input now “grabs” correctly when going from full screen to windowed and back. Fixes Bug #382.
- Viewpoint shouldn’t “jump” when returning from console/menus/chat/etc anymore. Fixes Bug #282.
- Launcher script should respect symlinks better. Fixes Bug #280.
- Beta expirations updated for another month. Fixes Bug #361.
Pending bugs include “can’t kill last boss” and “fall through the floor” bugs are still there with work arounds stated in the README. You grab it VIA loki-update or download the following filesssamtfe-beta2.sh.bin

Is there a difference between Serious Sam and Serious Sam The First Encounter? (on ebgames Serious Sam 4 bucks TFG=10 bucks in jewel case ) I have never played any of these games so I don’t know

there is SSam The first encounter, and SSam The Second encounter. only TFE runs up to now, icculus is still working on it

I had the following update problem …
Performing update:
ERROR: No matching delta for /usr/local/games/ssamtfe/Bin/libShaders.so
The program returned an error code (3)
Anyone know what I should do?

Anyone else have problems with the wheel? ie. It’s sensitivity feels way too low. I have to roll it atleast 4x as much either forward or backward just to cycle up or down my weapons.

Anyone else encountered multiple read to /dev/fd0 during install? Kinna funny, ‘cuz I dont even have a floppy drive, let alone fstab-entries for it…
Uh, and who do you kick, when it fails to install? Just the bugzilla?
