Now if the game ran faster than a mammoth caught in an ice age glacier I might be able to play it. Some of the maps are seriously machine crippling even on a Windows box with screaming hardware (well maybe not a R300 or GFFX, but normal hadware anyway).

The demo is pretty playable on my 750MHz machine with PCI geforce2. not always-30+-fps sort of playable, but playable.

I wont get this game until epic or infogrames pays due respect on their website(s) [ if someone knows where it is fine let me know ] that the game ‘runs’ in linux..

I really hate these corporate download sites. You have to go through 5 different pages to get to the file, then they tell you you’re in a queue. That’s bullshit.

Why they just put the file up on an FTP site?

  5. Says:

I cant install this patch… I get an error:
    ERROR: Can’t find /usr/local/games/ut2003/System/XInterface.tmt

Anyone else exp this problem or know where I can grab this file? Im also not able to perform a loki update on this game as it keeps complaining that this user didnt install it (which it did).

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks!

does this patch make the game fun? Seriously I’ve only played this game around 5 times. But I do appreciate the linux port.

The problem with speed is because of that the textures can’t fit into memory (I have 256 MB RAM and everything is alraight unless I have “Higest quallity” textures)

  8. Says:

Why are they wasting time on this when we need an xbox version.

    Schnell! Schnell!

if any linux users feels degraded by not being ‘good enough’ to be mentioned on this website:
( oh yeah excuse me for not ‘FAINTING’ since we now have a cute little yellow PENGUIN on the first page on the left side!!!!!!! )

    http://www.unrealtournament2003.com/?faq

then your presence on these pages is warranted..if not you dont deserve to be here as linux deserves mention ON that URL noted above as the games is ‘in’ the box is it not?..and as some of you ‘claim’ noted ‘on’ the box so whats the hard part about ‘noting’ it on the FAQ website…

i’ll tell you why…prob. some unscrupulous deal they made with M$ in some undetermioned EULA no doubt

troll all you want but we all know how the world works dont we but the good news is its all changing as countries team up behind the security and stability of linux..so soon say bye bye to your windows monopoly as more and more companies get on the linux bandwagon.
