It has to be applied to either a fresh install or a 24824 install — it will not update a beta patch (including the 25026 beta).[br][br]Oh, and Mike was involved in the release process, not the porting process :-)

Does this release work OK under WINEX? Has anyone tried this?

Will this patch the CD version completely up to the most current? There are so many previous patches available (takes forever to update a new Tribes 2 install), Id like to have an all in one patch to backup to a CD.

Where can I find Loki ports such as Tribes 2 at reasonable prices? I mean, if the windows version is being practically given away, I expect to be able to find the Linux version at less than $30. Amazon, for instance, ran out of Q3A for Linux copies at $10 in June; TuxGames still wants $45 for it.
BTW, why don’t those who ended up with the Loki IP publish collections (say, 3-packs) of Loki games (probably for $20 or so)? It seems that there’s some profit to be made in republishing, and most of the Loki ports have gone through at least one republishing on the Windows side of things if not more.

I don’t think the Loki Updater all in one patch works. At least for non Voodoo users. It errors out (AFTER downloading 94 megs!) with an error about a missing voodoo5.cs file or some crap. I’ve tried it numerous times.
I finally got it installed by updating to an earlier verson, then up to 24834, then patched it from there. Now it seg faults….. *sigh*
As for cheap Linux games. You have to remember, T2 is either the top or one of the top 2 or 3 games for Linux. For Windows, it’s got 50 competitors, all feeding money back to the same publishers. So they can sell it cheap. On Linux it’s much more of a high dollar item, though people who straddle both worlds see the inequity. I deal with it by just not paying attention to Window games any more. Though I admit I was tempted to pick up 4 copies of T2 at $10 yesterday for my family. But I didn’t because I want to buy it for Linux. It’ll just take me awhile. Note: if there were binaries for the windows version, I would have bought them. :-)

Twas my birthday this past week and I received a brand spankin new Tribes 2 game. But its for Windoze. I don’t have that anymore. Is there an installer that I can download and run against this like I did with UT years ago and get it into my Linux?!?
