Mindrover Beta Status

August 15th, 2002 by Alkini

LGP is wrapping up their Mindrover beta for their initial release (1.07b). The beta was relatively short because 1.07b is very similar to the latest Loki version of Mindrover with only a few changes. After this beta wraps up, LGP will ship Mindrover to resellers and continue development on version 1.08.

I hope they have not forgone Majesty to get this out, since I don’t think it will have as large a sale potential. Any Majesty updates LGP?

    Mindrover rocks.

One of the few games I still play.

The Alpha platform, as well as MIPS and SPARC, will not die effectivly against Intel and AMD as long as a few popular commercial and opensource games can run on them. Please port Binary games to Alpha. My fast 633MHz 164UX Ruffian can stomp any Pentium3, Pentium4, and Athlon<1500 you compare to it. It isn’t difficult to port software to alpha…

    gcc -O1 closed_source_game_engine.c -o fungame

…need I say more? Developers shouldn’t be so lazy. Programming is a science as well as an art too; so port to other platforms and make our day.
