Payback for Linux
July 15th, 2002 by AlkiniJames Daniels from Apex Designs wrote in to announce that Payback (screenshots: 1 | 2 | 3), a GTA-style game for the Amiga, is coming to Linux. The software renderer is nearing completion and the hardware renderer will be ported after that. The port is being done by none other than Dan Olson.

For some reason the name Dan Olson makes me think of an old Broderbund game…… Hmmmm…. It had “Double HiRes” (DHR) graphics. You flew some kind of saucer thing over the ocean picking up stuff. Kinda like Space Harrier, but over water. Time for a trip to the underdogs.

So Dan, how’s it all looking? Any idea when we’re likely to get out grubby hands on this one?
